May Day Protests and Riots 2013

Hundreds of thousands of people around the world took the the streets on May 1 also known as International Workers’ Day or May Day to demand better working conditions.

In Washington DC, two May Day groups with differing views fought near the White House. Things turned violent in Seattle where police says crowds shattered windows, tossed large rocks, bottles, metal pipes, fireworks and even a skateboard.  The clashes left eight officers with injuries, and police said they arrested 17 people, on various offenses including property destruction and assault.
